Not far from Wentworth is the Ramon Deed Veterans Retreat at Dareton, where we have stayed before, and is still a great spot for a couple days to unwind with easy access to Mildura. Oddly enough it was actually warmer here than anywhere we had been for weeks. Imagine coming back to Victoria to warm up. That didn't last long as our next and final stop before turning for home is back at Koondrook, and it was freezing.

Well all good things must come to an end, and we have arrived back home all in one piece, safe and sound. A truly great trip. What a magnificent country we live in.

It has been fun for us and I hope the blog hasn't been too boring. The blog has received nearly 1200  hits to date, a lot more than I ever imagined, with some even coming from the USA.

Our vehicle is a 2014 Mitsubishi Triton double cab Utility (pick up), it performed brilliantly with one minor hiccup at Broome where a power steering line worked loose, I was able to find this and and tighten it back up and proceed on. The caravan is 1982 Jayco Songbird, which we had done up ourselves before we left, it has been adequate for the trip and being small is very easy to tow, like a small trailer actually.

I notice our map book of Oz is still open at the Flinders Ranges page
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

  1. Loved reading every bit of your blog dad - so did Melissa and Ian. Not boring at all and I think you enjoyed blogging about your trip! Flinders Ranges looks like the next trip I'm tipping!
