After a short drive of 130 kms we arrived at the mining town of Leonora. A lot of interesting history here.                    
Just outside Leonora township is the Gwalia gold mine, a fairly large open cut. Nearly a kilometer wide and 300 metres deep.  No they aren't Dinky toys down there.
