Reluctantly left Meentheena Veteran's Retreat on Wednesday after a very enjoyable 4 days and drove back to Port Hedland.
This is where most of our minerals mined in WA are loaded onto ships and transported overseas, mainly to China being our biggest customer.
Some pics around Port Hedland and also showing bulk carrying ships being loaded at the wharf.

 Loaded ready to go.
 Bulk loading facilities
I counted 16 ships out at sea waiting for their turn to come in and load up.

 One of many lifeboats
A ship coming in, note the high waterline. She has pumped out her ballast tanks making her very bouyant and suscestible and vulnerable to strong winds and tides. So the tugboats are very necessary.
These Ore trucks are awesome.
There is a never ending stream of these ore truck road trains heading into Port Hedland. They weigh in at around 130 tonnes loaded and for obvious reasons have absolute right of way.
We saw dozens of  them as we drove on towards Newman.
